Mount Semeru is the highest active volcano in Java, rising to 3,676 meters above sea level, and is widely regarded as one of Indonesia’s most iconic trekking destinations. Often referred to as Mahameru, meaning The Great Mountain, Semeru stands at the southern end of a volcanic chain connected to the vast Tengger Caldera in East Java.

Geologically, Mount Semeru is known for its dramatic volcanic landscape, featuring multiple cinder cones and lava domes spread across its eastern and northeastern slopes. The mountain has shown continuous volcanic activity since the late 1960s, making it one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. Despite its activity, Semeru remains a popular trekking destination, attracting adventurers from around the world who seek both challenge and natural beauty.

Mount Semeru Hiking Adventure is a multi-day trekking experience this journey takes you deep into Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, passing through lush forests, vast savannas, alpine landscapes, and the legendary Ranu Kumbolo Lake before reaching the challenging summit of Mahameru (3,676 m).

Designed for adventurous travelers with good physical condition, this tour combines scenic trekking, high-altitude camping, and a midnight summit attack, supported by experienced local guides, porters, and full logistical arrangements. The adventure begins with comfortable transfers from Surabaya, proper acclimatization, mandatory medical check-ups, and well-paced trekking days to ensure safety and enjoyment throughout the expedition.
