Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Pangkalan Bun

Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local team and transferred to your hotel in Pangkalan Bun area. After check-in, the rest of the day is free at leisure. You may choose to relax at the hotel after your journey or explore the surrounding area independently, enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of this gateway town to Tanjung Puting National Park.

Day 2 - Start River Safari & Tanjung Harapan

After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and continue the journey toward Kumai Port by car. From here, you will board a traditional wooden houseboat known as a klotok, marking the beginning of your exciting river safari into Tanjung Puting National Park.

Cruising along the river, enjoy the lush tropical rainforest scenery while keeping an eye out for wildlife such as proboscis monkeys and long-tailed macaques along the riverbanks. The boat will stop at Tanjung Harapan Camp, where you will trek into the forest to observe orangutan feeding activities and learn about ongoing conservation efforts.

Lunch will be served on board, followed by leisure time to relax on the boat as the journey continues deeper into the jungle. In the evening, you will join a night trekking experience to observe nocturnal wildlife and experience the rainforest after dark. Dinner will be prepared and served on board, and you will spend the night on the houseboat, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.

Day 3 - Pondok Tanggui & Camp Leakey

After breakfast is served on board, the river safari continues deeper into Tanjung Puting National Park. The first stop is Pondok Tanggui Camp, where you will trek through the rainforest to witness orangutan feeding activities and observe these incredible primates in their natural environment. The journey then continues along the Black River, a quieter and darker-colored waterway known for its rich biodiversity. This cruise offers excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting, including birds, monkeys, and other rainforest species. Lunch will be served on board, followed by time to relax and enjoy the peaceful jungle surroundings.

In the afternoon, you will arrive at the legendary Camp Leakey, the most famous orangutan rehabilitation center in Borneo. Here, you will observe orangutans up close and receive a conservation briefing, gaining valuable insight into the long-term efforts to protect and rehabilitate these endangered animals. After snack time, enjoy a stunning sunset over the river as the boat slowly cruises onward. As night falls, experience a magical firefly dinner, where thousands of fireflies illuminate the riverbanks, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay will be on board the houseboat, accompanied by the natural sounds of the rainforest.

Day 4 - End River Safari & Cultural Experience

After breakfast on board, the river safari comes to an end as the boat begins cruising back toward Kumai Port. Along the way, enjoy the final views of the rainforest and make a stop at the Nipah Palm area, where you can learn about the traditional use of Nipah palms by local communities along the river.

Upon arrival at Kumai Port, continue with a cultural visit to the Betang Dayak Longhouse. This visit offers insight into the traditional lifestyle, architecture, and communal values of the Dayak people, one of the indigenous tribes of Borneo. After the cultural experience, you will be transferred back to Pangkalan Bun and check in at your hotel. The remainder of the day is free at leisure, allowing you to relax at the hotel or explore the town at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel in Pangkalan Bun.

Day 5 - Departure from Pangkalan Bun

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time at leisure until it is time for departure. You may relax at the hotel or do last-minute activities depending on your flight schedule. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your onward journey.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Tour duration max. 12h/day
  2. Deposit & Booking Confirmation:
    • A minimum deposit of 10% of the total tour price is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. 
    • Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit payment is received and acknowledged by us.
    • If the deposit is not received by the due date indicated in the invoice, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without notice.
  3. Balance Payment:
    The remaining balance must be fully paid at least:
    • 30 days before departure for most packages
    • Upon arrival for certain local packages if agreed prior in writing.
    • For bookings made less than 30 days before departure, 100% payment is required immediately.
  4. Cancellation & Refund Policy: 
    Refunds are processed based on the cancellation date relative to the departure date. Cancellation fees increase as the departure date approaches due to confirmed third-party services.
    • ≥ 30 days before departure
    A refund will be free
    • Cancellations made less than 30 days before departure (after flight booking)
    A 10% charge from the total amount for administration and reservation fee.
    • Less than 7 days before departure / No-show
    No refund will be provided; the full amount will be charged.
  5. Cancellation by the Company
    If the tour is cancelled by us due to operational reasons, extreme weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), guests will be entitled to one of the following options:
    • 100% refund of all payment
    • Rescheduling the trip or receiving a travel voucher, subject to mutual agreement.
  6. Refund Process: 
    • Refunds will be processed within 7–30 business days after the cancellation has been confirmed.
    • Any bank transfer fees or third-party charges, if applicable, will be deducted from the refund amount.
  7. We are not responsible for any expenses incurred outside the tour package, including but not limited to separately purchased flights, visas, and travel insurance.

Can I change the travel date?

Yes, travel date changes may be requested subject to availability and must be made in writing. Date changes are generally allowed if requested at least 14 days before departure.

• Date changes requested less than 14 days before departure may be treated as a cancellation and will follow the applicable cancellation policy.
