Your adventure begins in Waingapu, where you can settle into your hotel and enjoy free time after arrival. The following days introduce East Sumba’s iconic landscapes, starting with the rolling savannas of Wairinding Hills and continuing to traditional villages such as Rende and Kaliuda, where ancient weaving techniques and symbolic ikat patterns featuring distinctive horse and bird motifs are still preserved and practiced by local communities. Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival Day in Sumba

Upon arrival at Umbu Mehang Kunda Airport (WGP), you’ll be warmly greeted by our local team and transferred to your hotel at Waingapu area. After check-in, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You might take time to unwind, soak in the atmosphere of Sumba, or explore the surroundings at your own relaxed pace as you ease into the journey ahead.

Day 2 -Wairinding Hills & Rende Village Cultural Experience

After breakfast at the hotel and check-out, begin the day’s journey from Waingapu with a scenic stop at Wairinding Hills, where rolling savannas create one of East Sumba’s most iconic landscapes. Continue to Rende Village to explore its rich textile traditions and gain insight into the cultural significance of Sumba’s ikat weaving, followed by lunch in the village. In the afternoon, visit the tranquil shores of Kawona Beach to enjoy the coastal scenery before heading to your hotel in Tambolaka area for rest . The rest of the day is free for you to relax and unwind at your own pace.

Day 3 - Explore Kaliuda Village & Sunset at Walakiri Beach

After breakfast and hotel check-out, continue your cultural journey with a visit to Kaliuda Village, home to some of Sumba’s most exceptional ikat designs. Spend the day learning about intricate weaving techniques and the unique horse and bird motifs found nowhere else on the island, offering deep insight into Sumba’s artistic heritage. Enjoy lunch in the village before heading to Walakiri Beach, famous for its graceful mangrove trees and beautiful sunset scenery. In the afternoon, check in to your hotel and enjoy free time to relax or explore at your own pace.

Day 4 - Prai Ijing Village, Wunga Village & Sunset at Puru Kambera Beach

After breakfast, depart from the hotel and journey to Praijing (Prai Ijing) Village, one of Sumba’s most iconic traditional settlements, known for its well-preserved ancestral houses and strong cultural heritage. Continue to Wunga Village, where age-old customs and village life offer further insight into Sumba’s traditions. The day concludes with a visit to the peaceful shores of Puru Kambera Beach, where you’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch surrounded by unspoiled coastal scenery. In the afternoon, return to the hotel to relax and reflect on the day’s cultural discoveries.

Day 5 - Pasunga Village, Kampung Tarung & Sunset at Batu Bela Beach

After breakfast at the hotel, travel across the island toward Waibubak in West Sumba, enjoying scenic landscapes along the way. Visit Pasunga Village and Kampung Tarung, two traditional settlements that showcase distinctive ancestral architecture and enduring local traditions. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Batu Bela Beach, where dramatic coastal scenery and a tranquil atmosphere provide a perfect setting to unwind. In the afternoon, return to the hotel and relax after a full day of cultural exploration.

Day 6 - Free program to Explore Sumba

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Sumba at your own pace. You may choose to relax and make use of the hotel’s facilities, unwind by the pool, or venture out independently to discover nearby beaches, villages, or local spots of interest. This free day allows you to design your own experience, whether you prefer a quiet retreat or further exploration of the island.

Day 7 - Departure Day

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and some free time at leisure before departure. Take this final opportunity to relax, revisit your favorite spots, or simply enjoy the hotel surroundings. At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to Umbu Mehang Kunda Airport (WGP) for your onward journey, bringing your Sumba cultural experience to a warm and memorable close.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Tour duration max. 12h/day
  2. Deposit & Booking Confirmation:
    • A minimum deposit of 10% of the total tour price is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. 
    • Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit payment is received and acknowledged by us.
    • If the deposit is not received by the due date indicated in the invoice, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without notice.
  3. Balance Payment:
    The remaining balance is payable upon arrival and must be settled in full before the tour begins.
  4. Cancellation & Refund Policy: 
    Refunds are processed based on the cancellation date relative to the departure date. Cancellation fees increase as the departure date approaches due to confirmed third-party services.
    • ≥ 30 days before departure
    A refund will be free. 
    • Cancellations made less than 30 days before departure (after flight booking)
    A 10% charge from the total amount for administration and reservation fee.
    • Less than 7 days before departure / No-show
    No refund will be provided; the full amount will be charged.
  5. Cancellation by the Company
    If the tour is cancelled by us due to operational reasons, extreme weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), guests will be entitled to one of the following options:
    • 100% refund of all payment
    • Rescheduling the trip or receiving a travel voucher, subject to mutual agreement.
  6. Refund Process: 
    • Refunds will be processed within 7–30 business days after the cancellation has been confirmed.
    • Any bank transfer fees or third-party charges, if applicable, will be deducted from the refund amount.
  7. We are not responsible for any expenses incurred outside the tour package, including but not limited to separately purchased flights, visas, and travel insurance.

Yes, travel date changes may be requested subject to availability and must be made in writing. Date changes are generally allowed if requested at least 14 days before departure.

• Date changes requested less than 14 days before departure may be treated as a cancellation and will follow the applicable cancellation policy.
